The News
January 16th 2010 - Blitzkrieg competed in its first X-ball tournament. We entered the Mid South X-ball League (MSXL) tourney at Insane Paintball in Chattanooga TN. This was a whole new level of paintball, and was unlike anything we’ve ever competed in. It took some time to get used to the MSXL rules and style of play, which are very different from what we’re used to. In spite of the fact that this was our first MSXL tourney, Blitzkrieg finished in third place. We’re very proud of how we competed, and where we finished.
We would also like to thank KP and the rest of the guys from Yellow Jacket Paintball for coming out and competing with us. We appreciate your support, and look forward to seeing you during the Pride series.
November 25th 2009 – Advanced Paintball Electronics has just informed us that they have decided to sponsor the Blitzkrieg paintball team. We’re proud to be sponsored by a company with a reputation like APE.
November 21st 2009 – Blitzkrieg competed in the Bowling Green Indoor Challenge. This was our first time playing in this event. It was definitely the coolest venue we have ever competed in. Not only was it indoor, but there was stadium seating for spectators to watch the matches. In order to get from the player pit area onto the field to play, you had to walk through a tunnel, like they do in the NFL when they take the field. Very, very, cool!
Both of our teams made the semi-finals. Team 2 was eliminated in the semi-finals, while team 1 made it to the finals, and had a first round bye as they were second place in the points standings following the preliminary round. Team 1 played very good in the finals, and got to compete for first place in the last match. They fell short in the last match, and finished third place over all.
All in all, it was a great event, and we had a great time competing in it. We’re already looking forward to playing in this event next year.
Dangerous Power and Advanced Paintball Electronics gave us a lot of support for this event, and we would like to thank them for that.
October 17th 2009- Blitzkrieg competed in the Southeastern Paintball Series (SEPS) five man tournament in Louisville KY. This was the final tournament of the 2009 SEPS season. Blitzkrieg finished in 2nd place in season points. That’s not too bad, considering that we missed the first tournament of the season. We are extremely proud to have finished as well as we did in this very competitive series. We want to thank Dangerous Power and Advanced Paintball Electronics for their sponsorship and support throughout this season.
September 13th 2009– Blitzkrieg competed in the PRIDE 3 man series at Yellow Jacket Paintball. This was the final tournament of the 2009 Pride series. We had a blast! We won a few, and we lost a few. Blitzkrieg was awarded the “Sportsmanship” award by the staff at YJP. That was a great way to finish out the season. We hate to see the season end for the Pride series. We’ll be back next year, and we’ll be better.
September 12th 2009 – Blitzkrieg competed in the Southeastern Paintball Series (SEPS) five man tournament at Yellow Jacket Paintball in Hartsville TN. The competition was tough, but it was a great day of paintballing. We came in third place, and had a great time doing it. We really, really, love playing at Yellow Jacket Paintball.
August 16th 2009 – We competed in the PRIDE 3 man series at Yellow Jacket Paintball on August 16th. There were 22 teams competing in this tournament. The competition here is very, very, good. There were highly ranked players from throughout Tennessee and Kentucky, and there were players from the University Of Tennessee’s paintball team and Middle Tennessee State University’s paintball team competing. Wins are tough to come by in the Pride series, but I love competing in it.
August 8th 2009 – Blitzkrieg competed in the Southeastern Paintball Series (SEPS) five man tournament in Bowling Green, KY. The competition was pretty good. We were able to fly under the radar for a while, but the competition is ready for us now. Everyone brought their “A” game when they played us, and every match was a fight. We had a great time, won some matches, and scored some more season points.
July 19th 2009 – We competed in the PRIDE 3 man series at Yellow Jacket Paintball on July 19th. There were 22 teams competing in this tournament. This was a non-APPA event, and there was no ranking for this series. So D-5 players (beginners) found themselves competing against players that were ranked D-2 in APPA. There were highly ranked players from throughout Tennessee and Kentucky, and there was even a team with players from the University Of Tennessee’s paintball team competing.
We have never competed against this level of competition before. We competed well against the highly ranked teams, and won 7 of 9 matches. This tournament has a “final four” at the end of the day, in which the four teams with the most points play each other. We missed the final four by only 5 points, and finished 5th overall. We had actually beaten 3 of the teams in the final four when we played them earlier in the tournament, and we beat the winner of the tournament in the semi-finals, but they made it to the final four based on points. The two losses earlier in the day kept us out of the final four, or I feel like we would have won the tournament.
This is called the PRIDE series, because there are no medals awarded, there is no ranking system for the teams involved, and the series is not sanctioned or recognized by anyone but the people who compete in it. We are definitely proud of how we played in the series, even though we didn’t win.
July 16th 2009 – Dangerous Power has just informed us that they will become the primary sponsor of the Blitzkrieg paintball team. We’re proud to be members of the Dangerous Power Militia.
July 11th 2009 – Blitzkrieg competed in the Southeastern Paintball Series (SEPS) five man tournament in Owensboro, KY. As usual, the competition was pretty good. We missed first place by 10 points. We were soooo close. We’re getting better, and are legitimate contenders every time we compete now. We were able to fly under the radar for a while, but not anymore. The competition is going to be ready for us now.
June 13th 2009 – Blitzkrieg competed in the Southeastern Paintball Series (SEPS) five man tournament in Louisville KY. The competition was pretty good. We came in third place, which isn’t too bad considering the problems we had with inaccurate schedules and weapon malfunctions. Regardless of the problems, we placed third, and had a great time doing it.
May 17th 2009 - Blitzkrieg competed in our first PRIDE three man tournament. The competition was very good. The three man series proved to be vastly different from the five man series. There is no team ranking system, so we found ourselves playing teams with collegiate players. We didn’t do as well as we would have liked, but we will continue to compete in the PRIDE series and get better.
May 16th 2009 – Blitzkrieg competed in the SEPS five man tournament at Yellow Jacket paintball field in Hartsville, Tn. We finished second place in our division. This was only our second tournament, and we are really proud of how far we have come. We are only going to get better.
April 18th 2009 – Blitzkrieg competed in our first paintball tournament today, at the Southeastern Paintball Series (SEPS) five man tournament at Gateway Action Sports. We placed third in our division, and won one match in dominant fashion, eliminating all five of the opposing players without losing one of ours. Not too bad for our first tournament.
It was a lot of fun, and was truly a learning experience. We have a lot to build on, and will only get better from here. We look forward to competing in more tournaments.
